Real Madrid are welcoming Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday evening in the Champions League. As has already been stated in the German media, this provides an opportunity for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to put himself in the shop window and find a way out of BVB.

Falling out with the club once again, over his own unreasonable behaviour once again, Aubameyang is showing why a string of top clubs have considered signing him over the years, but then edged away and not gone through with it.

Marca, covering it from a Madrid perspective, believe it could be different this winter, and Aubameyang could be off to Liverpool. It’s claimed the Anfield club want to make the signing and there’s ‘no doubt’ that Aubameyang himself would be up for the Premier League challenge and a move to Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp has an advantage over others, having worked with the forward at Borussia Dortmund. That means he’ll know all about the potential attitude or immaturity problems, and be better placed than most to decide if it’s worth the risk.

Do Liverpool even need Aubameyang? Would FSG back such a big purchase in the January window without selling Coutinho? What would Marca know anyway?

There’s lots of questions and doubts, but from an Aubameyang perspective, Liverpool may be a good option.
