Mundo Deportivo continue on Friday with their over dramatisation of the Philippe Coutinho situation, but this time it’s perhaps an interesting angle for Liverpool.
After dismissing the idea of Coutinho plumping for PSG over a move to Catalonia, Mundo Deportivo have now brought Real Madrid into the situation.
The club from the Spanish capital are currently in full crisis mode, which sees transfers being considered, and it’s claimed one of those is signing Coutinho from Liverpool. Steps have already been taken, and outline talks held between Real Madrid and Liverpool, according to the Catalan newspaper.
Of course, Mundo Deportivo go on to explain that Coutinho’s heart is set on Barcelona, rather than moving anywhere else, so Zinedine Zidane could be snubbed. But if the Madrid interest is genuine, and not simply another factor brought in to hype things up, then it provides a great opportunity for Liverpool.
Not only can they play Barca around on price, but the prospect of actually selling Coutinho to Madrid instead is surely attractive. The move would surely be tempting to the Brazilian, regardless of what Mundo Deportivo hope.
Both Madrid and PSG would be planning for the next summer window, according to the claims, meaning Barcelona need to rush and get a January move sorted out.
