Say what you want about Corriere dello Sport, but this whole Daniel Sturridge to Inter thing that’s currently going on, they had it eight days before everyone else.

Much like Theo Walcott to AC Milan, the line then was that the England striker had offered himself to the Italian side, but now that’s changed.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport on Thursday, Liverpool are the ones who approached Inter about a move for Daniel Sturridge, who are very interested in his services.

However, due to financial constraints, the Serie A side can only really afford him on a loan with a view to buy for the time being.

This is said to have been an option Liverpool were reluctant to agree to at first, but, after some hesitating, the Reds eventually softened their stance if they get some money up front from the deal.

Furthermore, the arrival of Daniel Sturridge in Milan would allow Inter to make some money by selling on Eder, who has totalled just 329 minutes of first-team football so far this season.

This makes a bit of sense, but, as tends to be the case with England to abroad transfers, money is the issue here.

It will probably all come down to how generous Liverpool are feeling during negotiations.
