Following the signing of Luis Diaz in the January transfer window, it seems Liverpool could be interested in someone else at Porto.
According to newspaper O Jogo, the Reds had scouts at the Dragons’ Europa League clash against Lyon last night.
It just turns out that with a not so good performance, Porto came out with a defeat in the first leg of the round-of-16, and will now have a tough challenge in France to reverse that situation.
That’s why there wasn’t plenty to see at their performance. The biggest positive came from midfielder Vitinha, who’s having a great season and, following Diaz’s departure, he turned out to be the Dragons’ main player.
Other Porto players who made a fairly good performance were midfielder Matheus Uribe and winger Pepê, who fought until the end to get, at least, an equaliser against Lyon.
Now in case Liverpool were interested in the away side, then there was a little more to see.
With a good performance overall, Lyon had their win guaranteed by midfielder Lucas Paquetá. The Brazilian was highly praised along with teammates Anthony Lopes, Maxence Caqueret and Karl Toko Ekambi.
Liverpool weren’t the only big European side scouting the match, as officials from Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Milan all visited the Estádio do Dragão as well.
