According to regional newspaper Karadeniz Gazetesi, Liverpool have offered Loris Karius plus €10m for Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.
The 23 year old Turkish goalkeeper, who has been impressive for his club recently, has been linked with a move to Champions League winners over the past few months.
Trabzon based newspaper Karadeniz Gazetesi claims Liverpool scouts have been ‘amazed’ by Cakir’s statistics and they are looking to sign him.
Subsequently the Premier League side are looking to use Karius as bait in order to land Cakir. The German keeper has impressed for Besiktas this season, but it seems the Black Eagles will not be able to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer as they can’t afford his redemption fee.
Cakir is likely to stay at Trabzonspor until the end of the season as the Turkish club are in the mix for a Super Lig title. However, this is likely to change in the summer as they are in need of money given their poor financial situation.
The youngster, who’s also a part of the Turkish national team, is under contract with his boyhood club until June 2024.
