Yacine Brahimi views England as his “preferred destination”, according to A Bola. The newspaper claims there’s a Premier League race for him, in which Everton, Liverpool and Arsenal are involved.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are said to be behind in the pursuit of the winger, although they are the only side whose bid is mentioned, as they would be prepared to offer €30m, including bonuses.
Everton reportedly have a small advantage over Arsenal, but A Bola can’t confirm how much they are willing offer Porto.
They say that Porto want at least €40m to sell the winger, and the Premier League is the only league which could satisfy both the club and the player.
It’s always a bit hard to believe in these Brahimi stories, since earlier this year the Portuguese media claimed he was close to joining Chelsea. The Porto president confirmed on Wednesday that there were no bids for him, but the newspapers insist these latest developments happened in the “past few hours”.
Brahimi has been training separately for a few weeks, as Porto aren’t counting on him for the season. They are just waiting for someone to come and pay €40m for a player they no longer require.
