Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are the ‘most obvious buyers’ for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland, according to Sky Deutschland.
Earlier this month, Mino Raiola admitted the striker can join a top club next summer and also mentioned the Reds as one of the possible future clubs for his client.
BVB chief Hans-Joachim Watzke has already confirmed Real Madrid’s interest in the 21-year-old.
Sky transfer expert Marc Behrenbeck states the Norway international is not a priority for Los Blancos as Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé remains their number one target.
The Frenchman’s departure would see the Ligue 1 side come into the picture for Haaland. PSG have the financial muscle to carry out a deal for Haaland, and therefore they receive a ‘green tick’ from Behrenbeck as a ‘potential buyer’. The ‘other team is Liverpool’.
The Merseyside club are ‘not potent financially’, but sporting wise, an addition of a quality No.9 can further bolster their attack. According to the journalist, Jürgen Klopp’s side are
planning to bring in a new striker next summer.
Sky add a move for Haaland can also be used to convince Mohamed Salah to sign a new contract. His current deal expires in 2023 and Behrenbeck says the ‘next three months’ will be crucial for the English club to tie down the Egyptian to a long-term contract.
Apart from a better deal, Salah is demanding further reinforcements. Behrenbeck is of the belief Haaland could be one of them. Sky, therefore, suggest it would be a ‘good reason’ for the Premier Leagues side to think of the BVB player, in order to retain Salah.
Although Liverpool are one of the ‘most obvious buyers’, the report explains a decision has still not been made by the Norwegian. This is why the ‘Haaland case remains exciting’.
