Liverpool are interested in a move for Bournemouth winger Arnaut Danjuma this summer but will have to pay €25m to get him.
That’s according to MARCA, who cover Liverpool’s interest today amid a report on Villarreal’s attempts to sign him.
Danjuma was the star of the show for Bournemouth last season, scoring 15 goals and registering seven assists across the campaign.
That, say MARCA, has earned him plenty of attention and ‘revalued’ the forward for Bournemouth, who paid €16.5m for him two summers ago.
Such is the value of his stock at this point ‘several’ Premier League teams have ‘been interested in his services’, including Liverpool.
Now, there is no mention of a move from the Reds at this point, or whether there will be, just that they are among those interested in the Dutchman this summer.
Should they make a move, they are unlikely to face competition from Villarreal as they can’t afford Danjuma at this moment in time.
MARCA explain that he is their number one target this summer, however, Bournemouth’s €25m asking price is proving too high.
They’ve already seen a €15m bid rejected and are unwilling to ‘do anything crazy’ to get the deal over the line.
Thus, if the Cherries don’t lower their demands, they won’t be making a move, leaving the way clear for Liverpool to get their man if they want him. Whether they’re willing to pay €25m isn’t mentioned, but it seems the interest is there nonetheless.
