Following a few weeks of negotiations, Liverpool are reportedly ‘very close’ to completing the signing of Fluminense goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga.

UOL reports today that the Reds are paying a total of €2m for the signing, including the initial payment and bonuses.

They claim that the offer was considered ‘irrefutable’ by both the player and Fluminense, who will keep 25% of a future transfer.

It’s said the transfer should be concluded in the coming days, as there are only a few bureaucratic details to be sorted regarding the contract.

Pitaluga is only 17-years-of-age, but since he has a European passport, he doesn’t need to wait until he’s 18 to make the move. That’s why, according to UOL, he’s switching in the current transfer window.

It’s once again claimed that Liverpool’s idea is to make Pitaluga the ‘heir’ of Alisson. The youngster is currently teammates with his brother, Muriel, and used this connection to speak to the Reds’ star in the past few days.
