Over the past few days, articles about Mohamed Salah leaving Roma to team up with Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool have been spreading like wildfire, all because his lawyer revealed he was taking a flight to London.
Immediately, as tends to happen during the transfer season, 2+2 quickly added up to 5, and many thought this meant he was travelling to the capital to sit down and start negotiations with the Merseyside club.
This quickly spread to Italy, with some outlets claiming he had travelled to Liverpool on Thursday to hold talks, while others said Liverpool had agreed personal terms with Salah, and all that was left to sort out was the transfer fee.
However, Sport Witness understands that, while some Premier League clubs are taking an interest in the Egypt international and have enquired, no agreement has been struck with the Reds, either with Roma or with the forward.
This doesn’t mean a deal won’t be reached in the future, as it’s still very early on in the transfer window, but it appears people got a little bit carried away following a simple Instagram post.
