One man who is expected to have a busy summer transfer window in France is Boubakary Soumaré.
The Lille youngster was already the centre of attention during the January period as Newcastle United had a bid accepted for the defensive midfielder, only for him to reject the move in favour of staying in the north of France.
This summer, however, he could see bigger clubs, like Barcelona, come knocking on his door, which won’t really faze him as he’s already seen clubs like Liverpool approach him.
That’s what Sport remind everyone on Friday, as they look at who the Catalan club could try and buy in France should their attempts to sign Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes not bear fruit.
Their alternatives are Toulouse’s Ibrahim Sangaré and Boubakary Soumaré, reporting that Liverpool ‘have been negotiating with his entourage for some time’, but make it clear the Lille starlet ‘hasn’t signed with anyone yet’.
This isn’t the first time Jürgen Klopp’s side have been linked with a move for the midfielder, as Le10 Sport, back in January, stated the Reds had made a ‘remarkable entry’ in the race to sign the player, suggesting that if it didn’t work out in the winter, they could wait until the summer.
If Sport are to be believed, that’s exactly what they’re doing, and they could frustrate Barcelona’s plans along the way.
We’re sure they won’t care one bit, though.
