On Sunday, reports from Turkey suggested Liverpool had made a €5m bid for the Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi.
The story was published by Fanatik, who were mostly covering the interest from Besiktas in the player.
Now Portuguese newspaper A Bola has its own take on the news, saying Porto want to recover the €7.7m paid to Feyenoord two years ago.
By that, they obviously mean Liverpool’s bid wouldn’t be accepted by the club president Nuno Espírito Santo.
But Porto want money, and as Besiktas are only keen on a loan, Liverpool would have an advantage in this battle.
Martins Indi was sent to Porto’s B team last week, since he’s not considered as part of the squad anymore and the club want to sort his way out as soon as possible.
Desperate to cash in, Porto will happily complete a transfer should Liverpool stump up the €2.7m difference.
