Manchester United and Liverpool are set to scout the same player at the weekend, according to claims from Portugal.
Newspaper Correio da Manhã reports that the two sides ‘will send emissaries’ to Lisbon to see Gonçalo Inácio play in Sporting’s match against Benfica on Saturday.
The Lions are on top of the Portuguese table, with 28 points, while the Eagles come just behind with 25. Watching Gonçalo play in a such an important derby away from home will certainly be a way for Manchester United and Liverpool to see how he does under pressure.
Correio da Manhã isn’t the only outlet talking about that race today, as newspaper A Bola also has an interesting story about the defender’s future.
The outlet claims Sporting are actually getting ready to lose Gonçalo Inácio, as clubs could show up in the January transfer window and trigger his €60m release clause, leaving the Lions with their hands tied.
Manchester United and Liverpool are again named as two of the main candidates, although Real Madrid are another club who could come strongly for him.
