Liverpool and Manchester United are showing an interest in Anderlecht goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, with Jurgen Klopp and Erik ten Hag ‘charmed’ by him.
That’s according to Het Laatste Nieuws, who say the Premier League duo ‘have their eye’ on the goalkeeper as he continues to impress in Belgium.
Verbruggen has become something of a star at Anderlecht in recent months after being handed the number one role.
He’s taken the opportunity with both hands and not looked back, putting in a series of impressive performances in the league and in Europe.
That continue this week with another impressive performance against Villarreal, in which he was the undisputed star of the show and earned plenty of praise afterwards.
Indeed, a report the day after stated that the big clubs in Europe had started to take notice of him and HLN follow that up by naming names today.
They say that it ‘can be heard’ from Verbruggen’s entourage that Liverpool as well as Manchester United ‘have their eye’ on the goalkeeper, with Klopp and Ten Hag ‘charmed’ by him.
That’s because he is not only an excellent shot stopper but also good with his feet, something that is a ‘huge weapon’ for teams that like to build from the back.
For now, Anderlecht are not interested in doing a deal and plan to keep him at the club for at least another year, although there is a real possibility that they will have to let him go due to financial issues at the club.
They’d be looking for a minimum of €10m, a figure that both Liverpool and Manchester United could easily afford if they decide to turn rumours into something concrete.
