Noussair Mazraoui had to leave the pitch very early for Ajax on Tuesday evening.
He came off after ten minutes with an injury, but the final result will have certainly cheered him up.
A 21 year old right-back, Mazraoui has played 37 matches for Ajax so far this season, starting all but two of those. He’s picked up four goals and one assist in the process.
In the group stages of the Champions League, he scored against both Bayern Munich and Benfica, and will surely be hoping to improve his statistics in the next campaign… that’s if he’s still at Ajax.
On Thursday, Marca go through interest in several Ajax players, and look at competition for Spanish sides. When it comes to Mazraoui, Liverpool and Manchester United are said to be ‘on the trail’.
It may be a bit early for the youngster to move somewhere like Liverpool or Manchester United, and given Ajax are losing other players this summer, then it probably makes a lot of sense to keep him. And also a lot of sense for the player to wait.
Vultures are circling for signings and Ajax will need to be strong.
Spies from Anfield and Old Trafford can keep looking on.
