Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian has revealed he will ‘evaluate’ his future at the club once they’ve concluded their season.
The goalkeeper has been with Liverpool since joining on a free transfer from West Ham in 2019.
He arrived at Anfield as a backup to Alisson, and that is how his time at the club has been spent, with just 25 appearances to his name so far.
This season, in particular, he has managed just one appearance in all competitions, with 90 minutes in the Carabao Cup win over Preston North End, his only playing time despite the Reds having played in every available game this year.
He signed a new contract last year, but it was not made clear when that would run out, with many expecting it to be this summer.
It seems that might not be the case, though, with him insisting that he still has a year to run and could stay at Liverpool as a result.
“Alisson is one of the best goalkeepers in the world,” he told Cadena SER.
“We all want to play, and this season has not been as he would have liked. When we finish the season, we will evaluate; I still have a lot to contribute.
“I love my profession and being a professional. We will evaluate when the time comes.
“I would say yes, with a bit more strength (to a return to Spain). Obviously, the country pulls a little, and I would like to return to La Liga, but that is always if the opportunity arises. But I still have a year left on my contract.”
