Two days ago, Téléfoot journalist Julien Maynard stated that Liverpool have an ‘advantage’ over Real Madrid in the race to sign Aurélien Tchouaméni.
On May 10th, we relayed news from Spain that the Reds have made the ‘first offer’ to sign the AS Monaco star in the summer.
It was also explained that Jürgen Klopp has ‘given absolute priority’ for his arrival at Anfield next season.
Real Madrid are interested in the midfielder, but recent reports have indicated the La Liga side have asked him to continue at Monaco for one more season.
Sources closed to the 22-year-old have told AS the decision to change clubs in the next window has been made.
The France international favours a move to the Bernabéu. However, the ‘main obstacle’ for Los Blancos is the €70-80m fee demanded by the Ligue 1 side. They hope the player will ‘force’ to reduce the price tag to €50m.
If Tchouaméni does this and some of Real Madrid’s own players end up leaving the club, then it will be ‘feasible’ for Carlo Ancelotti’s side to sign the Monaco star.
AS also mention Liverpool’s interest in the Frenchman. The Merseyside club are one of Real Madrid’s ‘main rivals’, who are making efforts to acquire his signature.
Paris Saint-Germain have contacted Tchouaméni’s agents, but his preference is to leave Monaco for Spain or England.
AS explain the future of Tchouaméni is ‘very close to being resolved’. However, it is not made clear where he will end up in the upcoming window.
