Liverpool have become the latest Premier League club to be strongly linked with a move for Santos midfielder Thiago Maia.

With all the attributes needed to be a complete midfielder, Maia can defend, pass, dribble and create as a proper box-to-box player., although he is still developing. It would be no surprise if the 19 year old have caught the attention of Jurgen Klopp.

ESPN Brasil say Liverpool have made a proposal to sign the player, but they’re not the only club interested. Zenit, Schalke, AS Monaco and Napoli are all keen on a January move for the player.

Chelsea are the English club to be more recently linked with a move for Maia. Earlier this year Manchester United were also very interested, but the player changed agents and everything seemed to go on hold.

Reluctant to leave Brazil previously, much will depend on whether Liverpool, or anyone else can convince Maia. Liverpool have the attraction of Philippe Coutinho and Firmino, and also Jurgen Klopp’s good record of bringing through talented youngsters.
