Despite working on bringing in another midfielder and potentially more this summer for the first-team, Liverpool continue to think about the future.

That’s what TuttoMercatoWeb are reporting on Wednesday, claiming the Reds are ‘a threat’ to Atalanta’s youth sector.

That’s because Liverpool have apparently made a ‘convincing move’ to sign Samuel Inácio Piá, a 15-year-old midfielder at the Serie A side.

In fact, they have made an ‘official offer’ for the son of Piá, a former Brazilian winger who spent time at Napoli in the early 2000s before moving around Italy in from 2010 onwards.

The Liverpool target is said to be a trequartista ‘considered among the best’ talents coming through at Atalanta, as he has seven goals in 11 appearances for the U15s and has since been moved up permanently to their U16s.

Whether Liverpool are successful remains to be seen, but it’s clear someone has seen the talent on display and told those in charge of transfers at Anfield about it.

Not quite the transfer Reds fans will have been waiting for, but it’s certainly something to get excited about if it does end up going through.
