There’s huge excitement in the Catalan sport media over Neymar potentially returning to the club from PSG.

Antoine Griezmann has found himself pushed to one side, and whilst his signing is largely taken for granted, it hasn’t stopped the hype around the Brazilian. Indeed, today’s edition of Catalan newspaper Sport had a big front page story saying Ernesto Valverde has given the ‘OK” to Barca signing both players.

This means there’s going to have to be exits. Even if just one of those signs there’s going to be a case of overbooking in Barca’s attacking division.

That’s led to claims Ousmane Dembele could be leaving for Bayern Munich, as initially covered by SportBild last week. However, L’Equipe report Liverpool are also interested.

Jurgen Klopp and those in charge at the Reds ‘appreciate the profile’ of Dembele.

Liverpool are said to have made contact, presumably with the player’s entourage, to ‘take the temperature’, which means ask if he’d be up for it. L’Equipe say, so keen are the Premier League club, they’ve done this ‘several times’ in recent seasons.

The Anfield club, just like Barca, would have a very good front three even without Dembele, but that’s not stopping the claimed desire.

According to L’Equipe, his priority right now is staying where he is. Of course, that could change should Griezmann and Neymar arrive.
