Lazio have been doing an impressive campaign in Serie A this season. Currently in third place, the club’s start has been above expectations, especially for staying ahead of Juventus on the table.

The good football shown by the team is obviously attracting the eyes of Europe, and according to Calcio Mercato today, Liverpool are one of the clubs who are showing interest in the squad.

Although a general curiosity from the Reds is mentioned by the website, there’s a special player that Jurgen Klopp would be interested in… Stefan De Vrij.

Klopp and co would be considering the Napoli squad as a whole, perhaps looking at more than one potential transfer, but it’s De Vrij who pops up again as the main target.

The defender, who has been linked to several English clubs for a few years, sees his contract expire at the end season and reports on renewal talks have often mentioned Liverpool.

Last week, Sportmediaset were one of several in Italy to link De Vrij to Liverpool, saying he’s been ‘chosen’ as a major target.

A €30m release clause has also been claimed for any new contract, and with Liverpool said to have already held some sort of talks, the rumours aren’t going anywhere.
