The Italian sport media will not let Liverpool and Kalidou Koulibaly go. They’re utterly convinced the Reds want to sign the Napoli player this summer, and therefore endless articles have been published about the prospect.
We’ve assumed it’s all been part of a Napoli effort to hype the value of the player. They’re said to still want €100m, which feels like an unrealistic asking price. Linking the current Champions League winners, and also the team set to win the Premier League, could be a tactic to flush interest out from others, including PSG.
Nevertheless, the claims continue to be made, and Emanuele Cammaroto of Napoli Magazine, has said Jurgen Klopp’s side ‘would like to offer €60m’ plus a player for Koulibaly.
That sounds like a very fair deal, considering the defender hasn’t had his best season, and that he turns 29 years of age this month. Despite that, it’s claimed Napoli aren’t interested in such a deal and continue to value their player at €100m.
Koulibaly would be happy with a move to Italy, yet he’s not completely against staying where he is for a further season.
There’s a suggestion that if there is a Liverpool bit-part player Napoli are keen on, it would be Divock Origi.
