Back in January, we covered a story from Téléfoot in France claiming that both Newcastle and Nottingham Forest were taking an active interest in Paris FC striker Silas Wamangituka.

The forward has impressed in Ligue 2 this season, scoring seven goals in 23 appearances, and his performances have attracted the two above, but also clubs of a different calibre, like Liverpool.

This information is given to us by Le Parisien, who state on Friday that the Reds are the latest to join a long list of teams to have travelled to watch the 19-year-old this season.

They state that ‘half of Ligue 1’ have supervised Wamangituka this season, and even Barcelona decided to see what all the fuss was about.

There’s a feeling Paris FC will struggle to keep hold of him in the summer, and Le Parisien explain the presence of clubs like Liverpool and Barcelona will undoubtedly cause his price to go way beyond €5m.

Down the player’s end, things are relatively calm, and his agent makes it clear no decision has been made as of yet, waiting until the end of the season to sit down and discuss the matter further.

First, however, Wamangituka only has one objective in mind, and that’s getting more than 10 goals before the end of the season.
