Here at Sport Witness, we love it when a player reveals his bold dreams for the future, and today it is the turn of Kervin Arriaga, who has disclosed his love of Liverpool.
For those that don’t know, Arriaga currently plays for Marathón in Honduras, having joined the club from Platense FC last summer.
The 22-year-old has steadily been rising up the ranks since making his debut for his former side in 2017, culminating in his debut for Honduras in a friendly against Nicaragua back in October.
That’s continued at Marathón, where he’s currently managed eight goals in 37 league appearances and featured in the Concacaf League.
This has seemingly given him a desire to keep moving up the ladder and, in a recent interview with Diez, he revealed his desire to join Liverpool.
“The truth is I look at myself in a big team, I think and dream big,” he told the newspaper.
“Day by day I try to improve, keep learning, I strive to one day get to play in the team that I have in my heart, which is Liverpool of England.
“Firstly, I hope to God that I can at least have the opportunity to do a trial there. I think that it is worth dreaming big.”
Whether Arriaga ever gets his chance to move to Anfield remains to be seen, with it no easy feat to join such a big club.
He’ll have to continue making the rise up the ranks in Honduras first and, more importantly, try to get himself to a more prominent league where he can catch their eye.
That is likely to happen if he continues to rise and impress, particularly after the change in work permit laws made signing players from that area of the world easier and more appealing.
