It seems that not a week goes by without Liverpool being linked to a new young French talent, and this one is no different.

The latest to add to a list consisting of the likes (among others) of Hassem Aouar and Mohamed Bahlouli is Lille’s young winger Alexis Flips.

The 18-year-old forward, capable of playing on either side of the striker, is, according to Foot Mercato, being followed by Jürgen Klopp’s scouting team, and while the youngster isn’t left ‘indifferent’ by the interest, a move abroad isn’t his priority right now.

The French website explain those around him would much rather Flips continue his development at Lille, where he’d have a greater chance of breaking into the first-team than at Anfield.

The right-footed forward already has seven caps for France U18s, where he’s been a regular since August 2017 with Yacine Adli and Claudio Gomes, scoring four goals along the way.

Liverpool are said to have been following him for quite some time, but they aren’t the only ones, as other ‘English teams’ are ready to provide competition for the Reds should he decide to leave the north of France.
