Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz is one of the most sought-after players in Europe.

On November 27th, SportBild reported Jürgen Klopp’s presence at Liverpool gives the Reds an advantage over other suitors in signing him. It was also stated the atmosphere at the Merseyside club ‘captivates’ the Germany international.

Bild now claims the Champions League winners are one of the sides who are keen on signing the 20-year-old and they further mention the midfielder and his agent have held ‘concrete talks’ with Liverpool.

Havertz’s representative has also discussed a move with Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona. The player’s contract with his current employer expires in 2021.

According to the report, any approach from Liverpool or other clubs for Havertz will see them spend big because Leverkusen are demanding €130m to sanction their star’s sale.

With Liverpool confirming Takumi Minamino’s transfer, and the competition and funds needed to seal the deal for Havertz, it’s perhaps unlikely Klopp would push his side to sign his compatriot.
