Antonio Adán lives an odd situation at Real Bétis. Despite showing great form for the club for a long time, the goalkeeper still hasn’t a renewal offer since his signing in 2014.
This delay is not making Adán’s entourage happy, and as reported by AS today, it could make things easier for other clubs to get him.
From the ‘big’ sides who are interested in the goalkeeper, the website claims that Liverpool and Marseille would be those more likely to pay for his €8m release clause.
It’s been a long time since Liverpool started being linked to Adán, even before they signed Loris Karius from Mainz 05 last summer.
AS claims that Adán’s wish is to stay at Bétis, and the decision is basically in the club’s hands. But with such a low release clause, it’s hard to see the player saying no if a bigger side comes to get him.
However, despite AS’ insistence, Liverpool interest doesn’t make a great deal of sense. How much better Adán would be than Karius and Simon Mignolet would be debatable, and that’s if he’s better at all.
