Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva has been tipped to leave Liverpool for Inter in January.
According to a report in the Liverpool Echo the player could end up staying at Merseyside, as Liverpool seek a better deal from the Serie A giants.
However, according to Italian website Tutto Mercato Web, Inter and Liverpool have already reached an agreement for Lucas, who is on the top of the wish-list of the Serie A club.
TMW say the deal is at a very advanced stage, and that it lacks only the signature.
Lucas made a short cameo against Manchester City on New Year’s Eve at Anfield and is expected to start for Liverpool against Sunderland today.
Inter play their next match against Udinese on January 8, and a deal could develop between the two matches.
Lucas has 18 months left on his current deal, and has came close to leaving the club several times in recent transfer windows. it’ll be interesting to see if the Brazilian can survive another transfer window at Liverpool.
