Thiago Alcântara’s last match for Bayern Munich came in their Champions League final victory over Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.

The midfielder has a year left on his contract at the Allianz Arena and has already expressed his desire to look for a new club this summer.

Liverpool have been heavily credited with an interest in the 29-year-old, and over the weekend, Mundo Deportivo explained the player will move there this summer.

Munich based newspaper Abendzeitung has an update on the former Barcelona midfielder’s future.

Bayern held a celebration after winning their latest trophy, and according to the report, the Spain international once again told his teammates about his wish to leave.

It’s claimed the Reds still remain Thiago’s ‘dream destination’, but a transfer to Anfield can only be concluded if Jürgen Klopp’s side agree to meet Bayern’s €30m+ demand.

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has been speaking to the reporters today, and was asked about the frequent rumours linking Thiago to the English champions.

“We always read a lot about Liverpool, but they haven’t contacted us yet,” Rummenigge was quoted as saying by Bild.

“Yesterday we had the meeting with our employees and his whole family was there, and they wandered around the square in great nostalgia [in the Allianz Arena], I would say. It looked a lot like goodbye, as if he had made up his mind.”
