Liverpool’s interest in Alisson is still a worry for AS Roma, as they know that selling the Brazilian to Anfield would solve a lot of their financial issues in one go.

In January, Il Tempo claimed an offer had been made by Liverpool for the player, with Roma knocking it back.

Gazzetta dello Sport cover the financial side for Roma on Thursday, as they look at how a departure in the summer could affect the Serie A club, and there’s some internal struggling going on.

A lot rests on how far the club go in the Champions League, as the prize money from getting to the quarter finals could help the club balance the books for next season.

If they do, then perhaps selling Alisson might not be as necessary as first thought, and Gazzetta explain it’s too early to know.

What the club do know, however, is that a lot of clubs, such as Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, will be needing new goalkeepers in the summer, and Alisson is one of the cheaper ones on the market at the moment.

Taking up just under €5m of Roma’s budget, the Brazilian is hardly a top earner at the club, and those in charge of transfers at the club know a sale would represent a nice profit.

On the other hand, the club aren’t exactly thrilled at the idea of selling him just yet (he arrived in 2016), and doing so would be ‘the signal of a technical surrender’.

It seems that, if Liverpool do really want to bring Alisson to Anfield, then they’ll want a Shakhtar win next week.
