Given the defensive injuries which have hit Jurgen Klopp’s squad already this season, Liverpool are being linked with an endless list of possible signings.

Despite claims the Reds won’t be investing in the January window, it’s thought that stance may be just for show, with an addition at the back looking to be a wise move for the Premier League champions to make.

One of the men being linked is Ajax’s Perr Schuurs, and that’s of interest in Italy as he’s been dubbed the new Matthijs De Ligt and Serie A clubs are therefore paying attention.

Corriere dello Sport report the defender is a priority for Liverpool and the club are in negotiations with Ajax for his signing. The move would be one for the winter market, helping the Merseyside club with their absences this season.

According to the claims, ‘Liverpool insist’ on the signing and have formulated an offer of around €30m. Given the player’s contract expires in June 2022, that would give Ajax something to think about.

As it stands, there’s no concrete reporting coming from the Netherlands on Liverpool interest in the 20-year-old.
