Liverpool have joined Manchester City in showing an interest in Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski this summer.

That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say that Jurgen Klopp and co sent a ‘request for information’ to Napoli on Monday regarding the Poland star.

They report that after Manchester City requested information regarding the player’s situation, Liverpool ‘made a new survey’ right after.

The website explains that Zielinski is an ‘old favourite’ of Klopp’s, whose interest in the midfielder goes back several years.

At the minute, there has not been an official bid or anything of that nature, and it is up to Napoli to work out what they would deem as an ‘acceptable evaluation’ for him.

Sources close to the player, however, say that the possibility of a move to the Premier League is ‘concrete’.

Napoli are refusing to comment on the matter or share what they would deem as their selling price, which is likely to be high given Zielinski’s key player status at the club.

Either way, Liverpool are seemingly keen, and Klopp has turned his attention to an old target in his efforts to replace Georginio Wijnaldum.
