Portuguese newspaper Record report Liverpool are very keen on Benfica B player Nuno Santos. The Premier League have been watching the 18 year old’s development, claim Record, and have watched him several times recently.

One of the observed matches was against CSKA Moscow’s development side on September 12th, in the UEFA Youth League, and Nuno Santos scored twice.

Liverpool, clearly impressed according to the Portuguese claims, then initated talks over a potential transfer. Benfica don’t sell their best talents for peanuts and Liverpool were informed that signing Nuno Santos would cost them €45m.

That’s obviously too much for the 18 year old, and so Liverpool would have to negotiate downwards from there.

It hasn’t put the Premier league club off, and Record say an example of that is that they watched the Benfica B side against Manchester United on Wednesday and Nuno Santos put in another good performance again found the back of the net.

Nuno Santos renewed his Benfica contract until 2023 earlier this year, and he’s been spending some training sessions with the senior squad.
