Ever since it was announced that Dusan Vlahovic would not be extending his contract at Fiorentina, we’ve seen an increasingly growing list of suitors form.
Tottenham, Manchester City and Atlético Madrid were the early ones, since they all more or less tried for the Serbian during the summer transfer window, but we’ve now seen Manchester United and Liverpool added to the list.
The latter of those two is the focus of part of an article from Corriere dello Sport, looking at how Vlahovic has reacted following the news about his future.
He remains rather calm about it all, but it’s clear his performances will be scrutinised even more now, especially by clubs who could move for him in the January transfer window.
Among those are the Anfield side, with it said that ‘among the increasingly interested spectators is Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool, who absolutely need to strengthen the pool of pure centre-forwards’.
Since neither Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané and even Roberto Firmino fit the bill of an out and out striker, there is definitely a need for a player like that going forward for the Reds, and the belief is Vlahovic could be that man.
While Klopp had previously tried for ‘another jewel of the purple nursery’ in Federico Chiesa, ‘only to collect a resounding no’, things are very different for the Serbian.
It’s said that ‘this time, however, the game is all to be played’, suggesting there’s a good chance Liverpool could get his man if Liverpool make a real push for him.
Only time will tell, but it’s clear the Reds are there, watching, perhaps even waiting for the right moment to pounce.
