On August 31st, Sport1 stated Liverpool have had repeated contact with Jude Bellingham’s father, Mark, and his agent, Mark Bennett, over a deal for the Borussia Dortmund star.

Marca on Monday have a report discussing the Reds and Real Madrid interest in the 19-year-old.

Los Blancos have chosen the player as a target to bolster their midfield, but Liverpool are posing as their ‘great rival’ to sign him next summer.

The La Liga winners started contacts with the England international at the beginning of this year and had been following him even before he moved to the Bundesliga in 2020.

His deal runs down in 2025 and the Champions League winners have asked him not to renew his contract at BVB. Therefore, the former Birmingham City star hasn’t signed an extension at Dortmund.

The teenager has also not entertained multiple approaches from the Premier League and Marca state there has been a ‘special insistence’ from Liverpool.

Jürgen Klopp’s side will need a new midfielder next summer and their insistence with Bellingham has ‘grown in recent days’.

Real Madrid have three midfielders, Luka Modrić, Toni Kroos and Dani Ceballos, with uncertain futures beyond this campaign. Bellingham, for his part, is aware of what’s happening, likely at the Spanish capital club and elsewhere.

Although it is early to guarantee anything, Marca believe Bellingham’s gestures have indicated he wants to join Carlo Ancelotti’s side, even though Liverpool are keen to sign him.

Real Madrid have a good relationship with the Dortmund leaders and this could help them in a potential deal for the 19-year-old.

Earlier this week, reports said Bellingham’s asking price will be around €150m. Marca claim his real price is far from the amount leaked, but don’t provide any details.
