This week’s edition of SportBild once again linked Liverpool with a move for Timo Werner.

They’ve been doing so for more than a year, with Anfield presented as the right place for the RB Leipzig striker to continue his career.

It was once again explained Jurgen Klopp’s style is ideal for Werner, and that the player would have great chances of winning trophies with the Premier League club.

Some doubt was added, with it not being certain Werner wants to leave Germany that quickly, and getting into Liverpool’s team looking like a real battle.

Bild’s Christian Falk now has an update on Liverpool’s potential signing of the player.

It’s stated that should the Reds want to activate his release clause of €55-60m (amount dependent on RB Leipzig success) then they’ll need to do so before the end of April.

That would appear to be part of the clause, and would enable the Bundesliga side to have plenty of time to find a replacement.

Despite all of that, and all the hype this week, the situation seems to be the same as Jadon Sancho to Manchester United. Lots of noise, old claims dragged up, people trying to push the story forward, but no real sign of anything actually happening.
