Liverpool have been given a 65% chance of securing Timo Werner from RB Leipzig ahead of the competition this summer.
That’s according to BILD, who have today undertaken a ‘transfer check’ on the German striker and assessed the possibility of him joining the numerous clubs linked with his signature.
Werner is in high demand this summer after bagging 27 goals in 36 games in all competitions so far this season.
Liverpool have consistently been named among his suitors for several months, with it believed that Jürgen Klopp is a big fan of the 24-year-old and is doing everything in his power to tempt him into moving to Anfield.
Merseyside is not his only potential destination, though, with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Chelsea all rumoured to be keen also.
BILD take a look at the situation today, and when ranking the possibility of him joining various clubs, it is Liverpool who come out on top with a 65% chance.
That’s ahead of Bayern Munich with 15%, Real Madrid with 10% and Chelsea and Inter Milan, who get 5% and 0% respectively.
The newspaper explains that Liverpool are in ‘pole position’ at this moment in time, Klopp having phoned the attacker ‘several times’.
They are yet to have a meeting due to the Coronavirus epidemic, but it’s felt the German’s effort ‘will impress’ Werner, who has always stated he need to feel ‘comfortable’ at a club for him to show his best form.
They believe that if Werner is only looking to join an ‘absolute top club’, then Liverpool make sense given they’re the reigning Champions League champions.
He’s also made it clear in the past that playing in the Premier League is his ‘dream’, further adding to Liverpool’s hopes of pulling off a significant deal.
