Out of action since the 2020 Euros, Ousmane Dembélé has yet to feature for Barcelona this season.
The winger is expected to return just after the international break, and it will be interesting to see if he can provide a boost to the somewhat underperforming La Liga giants.
However, with a contract running out in 2022, there are big questions about his future, and a host of clubs allegedly keen on his services, including Liverpool.
Mundo Deportivo dedicate two pages of their Monday edition to the situation, and explain that Barcelona are wary of Dembélé’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, as they ‘suspect him of offering him to various clubs’.
Manchester United and Juventus are said to have shown the most interest, while Liverpool, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have also pricked their ears up.
However, when it comes to the Reds, it’s quite clear they are more than slightly keen, as Mundo have a separate article all focused on the Anfield side.
It’s made clear that Liverpool ‘are following with great attention’ the player’s situation, and that Jürgen Klopp has ‘a crush’ on the player and feels he ‘could be a very interesting part to renew the Reds’ attack’.
Over at Cuatro, their stance is a bit different, claiming outright that Sissoko ‘has asked clubs, like Liverpool, for the bonuses and advantages of a potential arrival as a free agent’.
Furthermore, Manchester United, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have also received this phone call.
As for Sport, they also mention the Reds, but they simply state they are ‘on the lookout’.
It’s Mundo who put forward the strongest claim here, and it’s something we’ll be keeping an eye on going forward.
