Iñaki Williams has been linked with multiple Premier League clubs in recent years, with Liverpool being one of those.
Now it’s time for this surname to return to the rumour mill, since his brother Nico is said to be a target for the Reds.
It’s Spanish outlet AS who writes about it today, claiming that Liverpool have been following the 20-year-old ‘from close’.
But that doesn’t mean a transfer is about to happen. The website makes it clear ‘there’s no danger’ for Athletic Club Bilbao for now, since the Reds aren’t planning to trigger Nico William’s release clause of €50m.
However, pointing out the quality the winger has been showing in Bilbao, it’s said the club ‘will have a problem’ in case he continues to draw attention from big European sides.
Nico only has 41 appearances for Athletic so far, with three goals scored, but his potential is highly regarded by the club, who recently raised his release clause. The youngster has already scored a beautiful goal against Mainz in pre-season, and that’s one more reason for Liverpool and others to follow him with attention this year.
One to keep an eye on for future windows.
