Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has been identified as a potential target for Bayern Munich, if they need a new number two this summer.
The German champions may need to find a back up to Manuel Neuer in the summer transfer window, with current number two Alexander Nübel pushing for a loan move away from the club.
That would leave a ‘hole’ behind Neuer, with the other two goalkeepers at the club ‘usually not candidates’ according to Sport 1.
Thus, a new option would be needed, and according to the website, Liverpool’s Karius could be one of them.
He’s currently on loan at Union Berlin and has largely been a back up to Andreas Luthe but has been featuring of late with the starter currently out of the team.
He’s set to return to Liverpool in the summer, although he’d be more than happy to stay in Berlin, but its been made clear that the Reds have no place for him.
Thus they would probably be willing to ‘give him away cheaply’, and that could suit Bayern down to the ground.
It’s claimed that is Karius takes his opportunity between now and the end of the season; he can ‘make a name for himself at Bayen’.
Now, this is all speculation on Sport 1’s side, they’re just looking at the potential options, but this potential deal, which would be surprising, to say the least, may be one to keep an eye on.
