Liverpool tried signing Perr Schuurs before he joined Torino from Ajax last summer and this was confirmed by his agent in September 2022.

The centre-back has impressed in his debut season in Italy, contributing one goal and two assists from 19 matches.

Schuurs’ explosion in Serie A has not gone unnoticed in Italy and England, where Liverpool are in the mix.

That’s according to Tuttosport, who explain Schuurs’s agent has had a series of contacts with the Premier League sides. They add that more than one big English club have ‘raised their antennas’ after the defender’s impressive performances for Torino.

Liverpool are tagged as they have been the ‘first to move’ to sign the 23-year-old. Apart from the Reds, Manchester United and a few other clubs have carried out polls.

An auction between the English sides could make Schuurs’ asking price rise to €50m and this is the figure the Turin club are targeting from his possible sale in the summer.

The salary Liverpool and other top Premier League sides could offer the player would be almost impossible for Torino to match. If Schuurs were to be sold for €50m, it would help the Italian club finance other operations in the next window.
