Manchester United face Barcelona in the Champions League quarterfinals on Wednesday, and naturally the Catalan media is full of articles looking at the lead up to the big match.

Every conceivable angle is being covered, and that includes how Barcelona have a couple of former Liverpool players, who may be even more motivated to get a good result at Old Trafford this week.

Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho are the men in question. Whilst the two South Americans appear to be held in different levels at Anfield these days, the Brazilian still believes he’s got the backing of his former supporters.

Quoted by Mundo Deportivo ahead of the Manchester United match, Coutinho explained his side will have extra support: “The Liverpool fans will be with us in the match against United, but they also know that if we both go through we can see ourselves in Anfield and of course I’ll be there with Barcelona wanting to win.”

And then the feeling of Liverpool fans towards Coutinho would be very different indeed, especially given the way the player left the club for Barcelona.
