Even though the current international break is coming to an end, Liverpool and other Premier League clubs should get ready for another controversy next week.
That’s because according to Globo Esporte, as Brazil are making a new call-up on September 17th, manager Tite won’t be stopped from calling up those based in England.
That means the likes of Alisson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino will be listed for the squad which will face Colombia, Venezuela and Uruguay. And Liverpool will have to deal with it once again.
The Reds, like most Premier League clubs, stopped their players from joining South American sides last week. The action was taken to avoid the quarantine the footballers have to go through when returning to England.
However, Brazil are insisting on the call-ups because they expect to have FIFA on their side. There’s even an expectation that Liverpool and other clubs will be punished for not releasing their players for the current international break.
According to Globo Esporte, the English clubs are still willing to hold back their South American players. So this is a saga which is just about to start.
