Barcelona’s hunt for new attackers is the subject of a story today featured by Brazilian outlet UOL.
They say the Catalan side now target Ajax’s Antony, who is also of interest to Liverpool, and Leeds United’s Raphinha for next the transfer window.
Now when speaking of buying the Dutch side’s star, the story claims it will not be easy to sign him, as there’s heavy competition for the 22-year-old.
UOL claims there at least three Premier League sides who are interested in Antony, with Liverpool among them, providing ‘fierce competition’.
The Reds are one of the sides who are said to be ‘eyeing the acquisition’ of the Brazil international, even though there are still no details on how far are the talks for the transfer.
According to UOL, Ajax values Antony at €40m, which certainly isn’t a huge amount for the current market, although the competition from Barcelona and Premier League sides, among which can be found Liverpool, can certainly make that price go up.
Playing for the Dutch side this season, the winger has 12 goals and 10 assists in 33 appearances.
