Completely frozen out at Liverpool by Jürgen Klopp, Mamadou Sakho is definitely looking for a way out from Anfield, and a few Premier League clubs have reportedly made their interest known.

The former Paris Saint-Germain defender, who appeared to be well liked by the German manager last season, is yet to make an appearances for the Reds this season, and the player has made it clear he isn’t very happy with the situation.

A trusted man of Didier Deschamps’ France squad when he was playing, the Liverpool centre-back hasn’t been in the last few squads for obvious reasons, yet one person believes the defender shouldn’t even be a player in the ‘top 10-15 clubs in Europe’.

Now a presenter on RMC Sport, former Barcelona and Milan forward Christophe Dugarry looked at where Mamadou Sakho could end up, and his analysis of the player wasn’t pretty.

He said: “I’m not a big fan of Mamadou Sakho the player. I really appreciate the guy, he’s a leader, he’s really nice, always playing for the team. He takes responsibilities. It’s important to have a guy like that in your team. He’s adorable.

“As a player, though, I find him a bit slow. He’s clumsy in his challenges. His positioning is mediocre. I haven’t seen him progress. Regarding his will, his investment and character, he’s quality. Technically, however, he’s not progressing enough. Same with his positioning.

“I might be one of the few to think that. Deschamps made him one of his key men. I’m just not a fan of his attributes. Maybe with a guy in front of him who can compensate for his mistakes, why not, but I don’t think he can be a defender in the top 10-15 club in Europe. He’s a good Ligue 1 player.”

A return to Ligue 1 has certainly been evoked, with Lille reportedly very interested early on (this isn’t the case anymore), yet the former France international also made it clear very few, if any, French sides could afford him considering the wages he is on at Liverpool.

As for a return to PSG, Dugarry doesn’t see it, especially with Thiago Silva, Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe all already there.
