Liverpool may be handed a free shot at Wolfsburg’s Mohamed Amoura this summer as Eintracht Frankfurt are unlikely to move for him.

Florian Plettenberg covers the player today and how he is ‘one to watch’ for the summer transfer window after his impressive season in the Bundesliga so far.

He explains that there is concrete interest from the Premier League in the 24-year-old striker, although he does not name any clubs specifically.

Liverpool, though, are known to be admirers, with a report midway through February explaining that they’ve already been in contact with the player’s camp about a move.

Plettenberg now reports that they could have a free shot as Eintracht Frankfurt, one of Amoura’s other major admirers, consider him interesting but are not currently involved in the race.

They believe the overall package for the player, which would range from €30-40m, would be too expensive for them. Of course, there is every chance that could change as reports have linked Hugo Ekitike with an €80m exit this summer.

Until that happens, though, it appears they will not be involved in the race, which could give Liverpool a free run at the striker should they want to take up the opportunity.
