Liverpool are back in the mix for Perr Schuurs after failing with their efforts to sign him in the summer.

On September 22nd, the centre-back’s agent revealed the Reds were among the clubs that tried signing his client.

The Dutchman left Ajax and picked Torino over Liverpool and other sides in the last window. His performances for the Serie A side have seen the Merseyside club keep tabs on him.

Schuurs has been ‘showing quality and personality’ at the Turin club this season and he extended his good run in his side’s win over AC Milan at the weekend.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, his displays haven’t gone unnoticed as Jürgen Klopp’s side and Atlético Madrid are ‘attentive’ to the defender. These two clubs are ‘closely following’ the 22-year-old’s growth at Torino and have ‘already begun to take information’ about him.

TMW points out Liverpool have already started searching for a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, who turned 31 years of age in July.

The Premier League side’s market men have included Schuurs’ name in their target list as a possible successor for his compatriot at Anfield.
