At the weekend, reports from the English media claimed that Liverpool have a preferential clause to sign FC Porto winger Fabio Vieira.
It was said that when negotiating the transfer of Luis Diaz in January, the Reds agreed with the Dragons that they’d have priority for the 21-year-old.
Now it turns out that those claims are dismissed on O Jogo‘s front page today.
The outlet features a story covering Fabio Vieira and Vitinha. They claim Porto will work hard to keep them both at the club for next season.
Speaking of Vieira, O Jogo points out the Liverpool claims coming from the English media, and when mentioning the potential preferential clause, they write that it ‘simply does not exist’.
Porto reportedly believe that the midfielder’s €50m release clause is enough to keep interested sides away.
Therefore, if Liverpool or any other club are really keen on him this summer, they’ll have to pay that price, or at least something close to it.
