Liverpool finished the 2021 summer transfer window with Ibrahima Konaté as the only new addition to their squad.

The Reds decided against bringing in a new midfielder after seeing Georginio Wijnaldum leave Anfield as a free agent at the end of last season.

Recent reports in the English press stated the Merseyside club have identified Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham as a target for next summer.

These reports are ‘correct’, according to Sport1 chief reporter Patrick Berger. The journalist took to Twitter to claim Jürgen Klopp’s side are ‘chasing’ the 18-year-old.

As per Berger, Klopp is ‘monitoring’ the player from his former club ‘for a potential transfer next summer’.

The England international arrived at BVB from Birmingham City last year and his current deal will run down in 2025. His contract doesn’t include a release clause and Dortmund, for their part, ‘don’t want to sell’ Bellingham.

On Wednesday, we covered claims made by Bild that the German side will not let Bellingham leave for less than €100m.
