Liverpool finished the 2021 summer transfer window with Ibrahima Konaté as the only new addition to their squad.
The Reds decided against bringing in a new midfielder after seeing Georginio Wijnaldum leave Anfield as a free agent at the end of last season.
Recent reports in the English press stated the Merseyside club have identified Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham as a target for next summer.
These reports are ‘correct’, according to Sport1 chief reporter Patrick Berger. The journalist took to Twitter to claim Jürgen Klopp’s side are ‘chasing’ the 18-year-old.
As per Berger, Klopp is ‘monitoring’ the player from his former club ‘for a potential transfer next summer’.
On Wednesday, we covered claims made by Bild that the German side will not let Bellingham leave for less than €100m.
FC Liverpool chasing Jude Bellingham. Reports from UK are correct, as Klopp is monitoring the midfielder for a potential transfer next summer. But #BVB position is quite clear: The Bundesliga side don’t want to sell Jude 🚫. Contract until 2025 – no release clause. ⚫️🟡@SPORT1
